Doing Laundry

Doing laundry is one of those routine household tasks that I do on weekends. I usually gather all my dirty clothes on Saturday morning and start the process. I sort the clothes into three piles: whites, darks, and colors. This is an important step to prevent colors from bleeding onto my white clothes. I then take the piles to the laundry room in my building. First, I do a load of whites. I put the clothes into the washing machine, add the detergent, and set it to the correct temperature. While the first load is washing, I get the next one ready. The whole process takes a few hours. I have to wait for the wash cycle to finish, move the clothes to the dryer, and then wait for the dry cycle to complete. Once everything is dry, the final step is to fold the clothes and put them away. This can be the most time-consuming part, but I like to do it right away so the clothes don't get wrinkled. I usually listen to a podcast or an audiobook while I’m folding. Even though it's a chore, having clean clothes for the week ahead is a great feeling.
