Doing the Dishes

Doing the dishes is a chore I do every night after dinner. It’s not my favorite activity, but I like to keep my kitchen clean and tidy. I usually start by scraping any leftover food from the plates into the trash. Then, I turn on the hot water and add some dish soap to the sink. I like to wash the glasses first, followed by the plates and bowls. The pots and pans are always the last thing I wash because they often require more scrubbing. As I wash, I hum a tune or think about my day. It's a simple, repetitive task that helps me to relax and clear my mind before I go to bed. After everything is clean, I put the dishes in the drying rack. I never leave the dishes for the next morning because I don't like to wake up to a messy kitchen. It's a small habit, but it helps me to keep my home organized and clean.
