Reading before bed is a habit I’ve had for a long time. It’s a perfect way to relax and disconnect from all the screens — my phone, my computer, and the TV. Around 10 PM, I put my phone on silent and leave it in another room. I then get into bed, turn on my bedside lamp, and pick up the book I'm currently reading. I have a wide range of interests, so my books can be anything from a classic novel to a modern mystery or a non-fiction book about history. I find that reading a physical book helps me calm my mind. The feeling of turning the pages and the smell of the paper are very comforting. I usually read for about 30 to 45 minutes. This quiet time helps me transition from a busy day to a restful night's sleep. It's much better than scrolling through social media, which often makes me more anxious and keeps my brain active. Reading allows me to escape into another world and forget about my own worries for a while. It’s a simple pleasure that I look forward to every night.
